Here at Rewind Replay we strive for the best quality production of videos, articles, writing, and news delivery. Our website was made by gamers, and our tag line is “Only for gamers,” if you are into gaming this is the place to be. If you don’t consider yourself a gamer this website is not for you. We hope to grow and have our reader grow with us.

Reviews

Rewind Replay’s main concern is giving gamers a honest and fair review. When reviewing a game, we ask ourselves these questions “Is this game worth X amount of dollars?” “Is this game worth my time?” Rewind Replay is concern with your entertainment, and we want to make sure that you are having a great time whenever you play a game we review. Its a task we take very seriously and do not take it lightly.

Review Policy

Reviewing games for the most part is fun. However, we want to make sure we are giving our readers a honest opinion on the games we play. In order to ensure that we are providing you with uncompromised editorial writing, the following policies have been setup for our editors to follow.

(i) The editor assigned to a certain game, may not read another publications’ review on the same game. The editor may however see the Metacritic score, as long as he doesn’t read any of the reviews. This policy has been setup to prevent plagiarism of other publication’s work

(ii) Before even writing a review, an editor HAS to finish the assigned game, and have tried other modes the game may have such as multiplayer. If however a game cannot be finished (i.e. sport, racing, etc) the editor only has to play six hours of said game, and every mode available.

(iii) We rate our games on a scale from 0 – 100. We believe this is the best way to quickly and accurately rate a game. On top of giving a digit score, we also give it a letter score to further assist the reader on decision whether game is worth their time or not. A game may receive any digit between 0 to 100, here is a summary of our rating scale.

0 – 67 (F) This type of game is horrible and it does not deserve your money, much less your time. This type of game usually has lots of glitches, repetitive gameplay, and other annoyances that keeps the experience from being enjoyable.
(note: We do not give games “D” grade, anything below C- is automatically a F. You wouldn’t be happy getting a D in school, much less playing a D rated game.)

68-79 (C) This rating is usually given to average games. They do not exceed any in many departments, however their somewhat enjoyable. They do some things right, but have many annoyances that keeps it from being perfect.

80-89 (B) Above average games are usually really good games, that can be enjoyed by fans of the genre. It has some issues which prevents from being an A game, but should still be played.

90-99 (A) Incredible games that definitely should be played by anyone who is fan of the genre, or just enjoys great games. Nearly perfect in every possible way.

100 (A++) Perfect game. Any game receiving this rating should be played by EVERYONE. This game has no flaws, is enjoyable from start to finish, and will be remembered as one of the best games of its generation. If an editor believes he encountered an A++ game, a second editor must also play the game and agree with his score. If the second editor does not agree, then both scores will be added together and divided by two.

(iv) We do not take replayability into account on our scoring. We will however advise on whether or not you should buy or rent the game. It’s all about quality not quantity, perfect example is Portal, which is one of the best games ever and yet it’s only 3-4 hours long.

(v) By default our reviews are usually between 650-850 words (we may make exceptions for some games). We believe that a review should only cover the good and the bad about the game. We don’t want to spoil the experience for the reader, so we want to make sure you are getting only the absolutely necessary information and nothing else.

“A review should be like a plane ride, you can see the entire landscape but cannot see all the details” – Giovanni Costa

Piracy

Rewind Replay has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to game piracy. Our Staff all comply with this rule, and fully supports it. If a staff member is found pirating games, his/her employment will be immediately terminated. However, we do not consider emulators for old consoles like NES or Genesis pirating, publishers can no longer make money with those games, therefore we do not treat old school emulators has “pirating.”
Rewind Replay Publications may choose to publish news involving piracy, but we do not endorse nor do we condone use of piracy.
