After what seems like centuries of delays and disappointments Blizzard Entertainment finally announces the release date to the highly anticipated Diablo III. May 15 will be the date that players will battle the forces of Diablo in order to conquer the  forces of EVIL! Exciting stuff right?

The only sad thing about this piece of news is that Blizzard will be going head to head against Rockstar’s Max Payne 3, and I only have time to play one of them…life is tough.

Diablo III is almost here, or at least I keep telling myself that every night to help me go to sleep. And Blizzard is trying their very best to get this game out ASAP. That means that they have to cut few things that just wasn’t ready yet at launch, one of those things being the PvP system for Diablo III.

“we’ve made the difficult decision to hold back the PvP Arena system and release it in a patch following the game’s launch”

Give Blizzard credit however, their reasoning is that they don’t want to punish us even more by delaying the title another time, so instead they will cut out this feature in order to make schedule for the game and patch it later when its ready.

At this point you can cut whatever you want Blizzard, we just want to play the game.

Lately a recent trend of mine has been trading my keyboard/mouse for a controller. Five years ago the thought of playing a PC game with a controller would’ve seemed like a ridiculous idea. This trend of mine started last year with the Witcher 2, where I could not wrap my head around playing with the keyboard and mouse and quickly plugged in my Xbox 360 controller for a better experience.

We have been giving Diablo III a lot of attention lately, but what can you expect when rumors start flying left and right about this highly anticipated game? The latest buzz around the internet is the “confirmation” that Diablo will be coming to consoles. As tweeted by Blizzard’s community manager who said:

 
“Yup. Josh Mosqueira is lead designer for the Diablo console project.”

He later on went to tweet:

“Yup, wasn’t meant to be an announcement. We’re still exploring a console version, but more importantly working on the PC/Mac version.”

Diablo III has been teased to be coming to consoles for quite a while and while Blizzard’s portfolio would indicate anything but a console release, it seems like it’s going to happen sooner or later. Forgive me for saying this but playing a Blizzard game with a controller just feels…wrong.

Well it was good while it lasted, but the rumor that Diablo III would be coming out on February 1st has been vanquished by Blizzard’s community manager who tweeted

“Diablo III does not have a release date. Any store or person claiming otherwise is guessing.”

Sorry for getting your hopes up, but we did say it was a rumor, so don’t blame us we’re just as disappointed as you are.

According to the picture below acquired by Joystiq, Diablo III is being launched on February 1st. This picture from a Best Buy in Minnesota can somewhat confirm this rumor, and to add more fuel to the fire an UK retailer is showing that the game will be coming out February 3rd.

No official announcements from either Blizzard or Activision, but they did say that they would be launching the game “early 2012,” we just never thought it would had been this early.
