Diablo III Pushed to Early 2012

Ready for some sad news? Blizzard Entertainment has announced today that Diablo III won’t be hitting store shelves this year. Instead the game will be release in early 2012. “With every game we make, the temptation is always very strong to launch as soon as possible. However, we didn’t put so many years of work into Diablo III to release a game that was almost ready. The beta test is going very well, and we look forward to making the most of the extra time we’re taking to deliver an experience that lives up to our vision for the game and the expectations of our players.” Mike Morhaime (CEO of Blizzrd).

While the news that we won’t be getting the game early is quite sad. I do admire Blizzard’s choice to hold on to the development until they think the game is ready. If only more companies did that, this industry would be in a much better place. No official release date yet, but for now if you have the beta enjoy the game.

While this can fall under category of rumor, seems that somebody has leaked some major information from Blizzard’s HQ. According to the leaked information Blizzard is planning to release Diablo III in the forth quarter of 2011, along with a Starcraft II expansion and the Phoenix campaign.

The long awaited World of Warcraft movie will be released in 2012, along with a new game (or maybe project name) called Titan. While all of this should be classified as rumor, if everything is indeed true then someone at Blizzard is going to get shot in the face.

BlizzCon 2010 News

News from Blizz Con are all rotating around Diablo 3, another class has been revealed, the demon hunter (which seems a lot like the amazon from Diablo II) is coming to kick some ass. Some of his/her abilities include, fan of knives, molten arrow, grenade, bola, and entangling shot. If you want to take a further look, check out this video.

Other Diablo news include a new arena system, which will work much like WoW arena system. You be able to do team PvP, or do 1v1 duels. The developers went on to say that they wanted to add deeper, more organized, and more fun to the PvP experience of Diablo III.

No release date yet for Diablo III, and judging by the number of classes they still have to announce (Druids!), I would say its still many months away.
