For those that were disappointed that they wouldn’t be able to beg their loved ones to buy them a PS Vita this holiday season, fear not! Jack Trentton (President/CEO of SCEA) has announced today that Sony’s next handheld would be hitting store shelves February 22nd in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Europe. Jack also revealed that Sony currently has over 100 games in development for the platform. No word on what games will be launch titles though.
On top of that PS Vita will feature Skype, Facebook, foursquare, and twitter aps right from the get go. The PS Vita will cost $249.99 in North America. Currently we know that games such as Uncharted, Call of Duty, Assassins’ Creed, and Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 will be hitting the platform at some point. Let us hope that they don’t make the same mistake Nintendo did with the 3DS.
