Can’t wait to get the PS Vita? Well your going to have to wait until early 2012, because that’s when the handheld will be launching here in the US and Europe. Kaz Hirai has not given any news on launch software, or specific release date, but he did say that he wanted a variety of games at launch. He also said that the Nintendo 3DS is not direct competitor to the PS Vita since their targeted towards different markets, and stated that they will not drop the price just because Nintendo has. Japan however should have the handheld on store shelves later this year, which is not surprising at all considering that the PSP is much more popular in Japan.
